Venice day 2: Not Living in a Fantasy World
Venice day 2: Not Living in a Fantasy World
When talking about these feelings I think it's nice to share with you the reality as I can imagine that my life sometimes may look more as a fantasy to some, for instance when you take a look on Instagram.

Being able to travel often for the blog is beyond amazing. I truly appreciate every experience we gain through these trips and there's nothing I love more than to share these experiences and feelings with you next to my outfits and beauty posts.

I'd like to be honest in that these trips we make are not real vacations as most of us are used to. I'm definitely not complaining, how can I right? We're travelling the world and we're doing amazing projects with brands I feel so passionate about. But as a matter-of-fact, every morning and every night, Maurits and I spend hours in our hotel room working on e-mails, new blog posts, new projects, the new website, and so on. It's not always that romantic (despite we visit the city of romance this time), but we already feel so lucky to experience all of this together. And above all, if we wouldn't have the discipline to work during these trips, we would run behind all the facts and we wouldn't be able to catch up. Still not complaining though, we're doing everything with a big smile on our face. D And of course we'll pick a night, that becomes our night where nobody can disrupt us and we create beautiful memories.

I just think it's nice to experience local rituals, music, food, and ambiance.

So during the day of course we headed out in Venice to experience another magical day. It's insane how every house, every bridge, every canal visually expresses so many emotions and makes me admire this island even more. I feel that a lot of you guys have visited this Venice as well (according to the instagram comments) and share the same feelings with me. Even though it's very touristy, this really isn't a reason not to visit Venice, right? Who wouldn't want to see a beautiful place like this. I just think it's nice to experience local rituals, music, food, and ambiance. For example when it comes to food, we made sure to eat at local restaurants only. And from talking to local people, we found out that when you visit Venice, you don't order Pizza or meat, it's simply not their specialty. Instead, make sure to order pasta or fresh fish. A quick tip: you can recognise a tourist restaurant quickly by checking whether there menu (which is presented in front of the restaurant) is translated in 10 languages. This usually is a sign. H

Another day in Venice, another dress. This time a super light and airy dress, which is great for a day of wandering while looking good at the same time. I'm definitely not one of those tourists that only cares about comfort. I always try to acquire the best of both worlds, and with this outfit I could walk around the entire day without feeling tired or uncomfortable. I matched the dress with my Céline Bag and sunnies of which the colours complement each other perfectly.
