First post from New York and it's a special one! Last saturday I had the chance to meet the Tommy Hilfiger team whom were busy preparing the Fall 2014 fashion show which was just revealed during NYFW. It was incredibly inspiring to have a look behind the curtains and it made me realize how many people are involved in making such a show. They all have a different role and together strive to create a beautiful collection, perfect in every detail.
Next to getting a quick glance on the preparation for the show I was extremely excited to see a preview of the entire collection including the inspiration wall which Tommy Hilfiger based the collection on. What amazes me the most about the collection is how Tommy Hilfiger continues to stay classic and true to its roots while giving it a modern and sophisticated twist. So for instance I recognized Tommy Hilfiger's classic colors (Red, Blue, White) and fabrics that were used in the collection. At the same time it felt very youthful and modern. A
After going through the collection it was time to pick two of my favorite looks to shoot with a professional team. The first outfit was the tartan printed suit. Again, recognizable Tommy Hilfiger due to the colors yet incredibly modern. Great for during the day but can be easily turned from a day to night look by wearing a low V neck shirt underneath. I kept the look simple since I think the 'less is more' rule applies to the collection.
For the second look I wanted something casual while keeping the sophisticated touch you guys know I love. So I opted for a black leather dress with maroon colored sleeves and a navy blue collar. I matched it to the gray blue beanie which made it look extra casual. Perfect for a weekend look if you ask me.
