Hi everybody. I'm sitting here behind my laptop with the biggest smile on my face. Why? Sometimes I feel that certain things happen in our lives and some of these 'events' can motivate me tremendously. Something similar happened last night and it resulted in me having no sleep at all. I was thinking about one of our biggest projects which will be released in 2015, and sometimes it makes me super excited but also very scared at the same time. Taking such big risks and steps in life is always hard, especially when you're such a perfectionist as I am. I always want to deliver the best, because I think that's what you guys deserve. But although it might get scary from time to time, I try to remember that we only learn by doing – whether the result is great or not.
I also somehow get the most genius ideas in my head when I'm supposed to lay in bed all calm and relaxed, ready for take off to dreamland. I wish these moments would happen during the day, but I guess the reason why this is happening at night is that nothing else is on my mind. You guys just wait for it, we're taking you with us on an amazing journey; some big things are happening in 2015 and I'm already preparing my favourite post of the year (like I did last year as well). It's the post I publish on the last day of the year, where I will recap everything that we've been through this past year. From the highest points to some disappointments as well. I know most of you guys think that I live in a sort of fantasy world, which is perfectly understandable, as last year I decided to only share the positive things in life. I really wanted to build a platform that made me and you happy, there are already so many terrible things happening in the world. But during this special post I'm sharing more than I usually do and I might just tell more about the secret project we've been working on for ages. I'm already preparing this post because there's so much to share.
Ok wait, I've been typing like crazy and just realised I need to STOP rambling since I first want to share a very sophisticated look we shot in the always elegant Paris with my dear friend Sanaz. As some of you know, during our last trip Maurits decided to stay at home and instead my best friend came along with me. We had so much fun, goofing around all day, and having our little private dance parties like we used to do 10 years ago. I decided it would be fun to have her in this shoot as well, because I think we were both looking a bit Parisian that day.
Parisian women are always on point as they dress modern yet traditional, elegant, and full of confidence. They have a natural allure, there’s that certain something about Parisiennes. I guess it’s an appearance no one is able to describe: the well-known je ne sais quoi.
I kinda felt like one of them while walking through the streets of Paris. I was wearing black from head to toe, and added a white elegant coat. Especially, the Céline glasses gave me that French feeling. We shot this at the first day of our trip to the city of love, right before I had a fitting with Dior. Our collaboration is one that I’m really passionate about, and I can’t wait to show you the results of the shoots we did in the gardens of Versaille. It will be my Christmas present to you. A
