On the Run with Global Prints

There is nothing quite like transitioning into spring and inviting the warm weather with some fresh color in your outfit. And what better way to do that than with global prints? You don’t have to be a world traveler to truly embrace the wide variety of colors and endless combination of patterns, plus it’s an easy and fun way to spice up your wardrobe. Sometimes it can be scary to combine these new things into your everyday look, but don’t worry, you don’t have to go overboard. To me, the easiest way to incorporate them is to pick one piece and run with it! Or if you’re feeling brave, it’s nice to mix and match certain themes on multiple pieces. You can really get creative here and find what suits you the best! Even something as simple as a scarf (or shoes!) marked with your favorite vibrant global print will give your look a bit of extra flair.

What I like most about global prints is that the designs combine colors and patterns from all over the world in a playful, feminine and sophisticated way. You can see the cultural inspiration in every piece, which I love! The vibrant energy from the warmer weather is perfect for fully embracing these new patterns and I thought that it would be nice to go a little wild with animal prints. Printed shoes are a nice accent to any look, especially if you can run around in them. They are so lively and I definitely felt a energy rush through me with these zebra print espadrilles I found on Omoda. You guys know how much I love my low-cut white sneakers which I wore a lot during the winter because they gave my looks a more relaxed vibe. But I thought that I’d try something a little different and to me, espadrilles are definitely the perfect warm weather shoe. The natural fabric on the heel and the flexible sole make it easy to walk around outside and let your feet breath. I love that no detail was left out on these shoes because even the bottom is printed! How fun is that? To keep the focus on the matching motif of the shoes and scarf, I chose to play down the rest of my look wearing black and white. The simplicity of the t-shirt with the laid-back edge of the jacket and pants doesn’t take away from the print on the shoes, which makes this outfit appropriate for a day at the office to a day out with friends. So incorporating global prints into your outfit doesn’t have to be hard, just remember to have fun with it!
