Complementing Heights and Materials

My last outfit shot in 2013, and my first outfit of 2014 published on the blog. A I'm actually very excited to share one of my favorite kind of looks, mainly because of the difference heights that were incorporated. Of course we all know by now that over-the-knee boots are currently very much on trend but these are even taller compared to the average ones (of course it also depends on ones body height). Concerning materials, I think that in almost every single outfit it feels right to wear something leathery, it brings in a touch of edginess. So when I'm sporting boots with suede material I love to match it to leathery shorts. Although I think leather on leather works out great, the combination of leather and not leather has my preference. The boots make my legs look taller and I love the effect the shorts give to my legs as well, leaving a little skin.

Combining this to a jacket of which the height complements the boots is just a perfect way to finish off the look. When you zip the jacket the only thing to see are the boots and the jacket which looks extremely sophisticated, and when you unzip the jacket (like I did here) it leaves space to show off the different layers and makes it more of a playful look. Playing with different heights next to different materials has quickly become one of my favorites things to do when it comes to looks. A

I was wearing
Gianvito Rossi Boots (Zara has similar ones)
Sandro Jacket
Zara Leather Shorts
Black hat
Chanel Boy Bag
Ray Ban Wayfarers
