Chengdu – the city of teahouses, pandas, Ma-jiang and... One of the locations of the Dot’s of Life Tour! We were honored to be Tod's brand ambassodor for the event that took place in China.
It all started a few months back when Tod's introduced a new platform where we as users had the possibility to upload and share images wearing the Gommino's. I had such a great time browsing on this platform as I took so much inspiration from it. It showcased perfectly how the iconic Gommino's could be worn in so many different ways.
This platform soon became a community and therefore Tod's decided to celebrate this in a very creative and unique way: they brought a selection of the pictures submitted online by users and exposed this in a "lifestyle performance" (exposition of the printed portraits).
The night was filled with amazing experiences of which one in particular blew me away. We had the opportunity to see how a Gommino shoe was made from scratch, which was really impressive. I learned that the beloved Gommino's require 100 steps in the construction of a shoe. This only shows how much craftsmanship goes into creating the iconic shoes. No wonder they walk incredibly comfortable and are made out of such great quality.
Overall, it has been such an amazing journey. We experienced such a lovely and unforgettable time and it was so nice to meet all of the social influencers from China.
To the event I sported a printed sweater with a turtleneck, a perfect item for the upcoming winter season. I decided to pair it with leather shorts to achieve a playful effect, and combined it with two iconic classics: the red lip and of course the Tod’s Gommino. Have you seen the Instagram photo of Maurits and I (if not, you can check it out at the Negin360 section)? He’s rocking the Gommino’s almost better than I do! Almost. E
I was wearing a total Tod's look.
